I understand that Smith is now out of the Corporation. That is good news but it also raises some questions:
1) Who is now running the Corporation and who is on the Board of Directors?
2) What is going to happen regarding these 'locking gates'?
3) What goals are set for this Corporation in the future?
This existing forum would be a good place for the BAW residents to exchange information. You don't have to pay any dues to post here and you can pretty much say anything you want. So far nothing has been deleted or edited and there are no plans for any such actions. Hopefully everyone will be able to freely discuss things without a lot of name calling etc.
Consider it the 'unofficial' BAW board where you don't have to pay $50 to be a 'member'.

I've not seen anything in the paper or on tv about Smith leaving. Are you sure he is gone? Actually I haven't seen anything at all about BAW recently. Probably if you live there you wouldn't want to read any stuff in the paper as it usually is negative.

I have heard the books are being audited by a CPA. Any misappropriation of $300 or more is a felony and under Florida's Discovery Law the statute of limitations can be as long as 12 years when discovery is made at a later date. I hope they do look back 12 years which would have Smith's ass working button holes. Of Course being a "Colonel" I'm sure his training would kick and and he would go in to "survival mode" and could take anything they throw at him. but, you could not tell that by watching his wimpy ass testimony during Martin's trial. The jury foreman, a Sargent First Class on active duty in the US Army was unimpressed. Smith is about to be in more trouble than you can imagine even if he did not embezzle. I am not saying he did I am saying they need to audit the books, look at cancel checks, bank statements, not the typed up crap he handed out at meetings to members. Hell, that's what Bernie Madoff was doing typing up statements and mailing to his clients. Payback is hell.

2) What is going to happen regarding these 'locking gates'? ===============================
I guess it has been 2 months since I was at one of the gates, I found it unlocked and you could just push it open all the way.
Is this the new policy on the gates or was it just a case of someone leaving that did not close/lock that gate?
I don't go to the beach via any of those gates, I just happened to be walking by one day and it looked like it was open and it was.
Be nice if they have now left them open for everyone.
