Hello, My name is Ryan Powell. I have lived in Bid-A-Wee for almost 4 years. It is very unfortunate that this upheaval has made you doubt living here. I am a Realtor with Keller Williams and would like to help you find a home here in Panama City Beach that you will be happy in! Call or text me at 850.381.2662

You can do better than Bid A Wee. While there are some decent homes there are also some dumps from the 70's etc and a lot are overpriced for old homes. Take a look at condos also, there are 19,000 condo units in Bay County so you can look at lots of placed better than BAW. Also I understand that the voluntary HOA is just about kaput, so save your dues if you buy and don't join that HOA.

Just to set the record straight. Bid-A-Wee does have HOA. The organization, Bid-A-Wee Beach Park, Inc. (BAWBP) is a not-for-profit corporation form to protect the beach from development and to preserve the Dedication made by Eula Miller in 1935 to all property owners within Bid-A-Wee and Seclusion regardless of whether of not they are member's of BAWBP, Inc. A group of elitist members of the BAWBP Board of Directors and the President, who had personally appointed all Board member's decided that gates should be erected to prevent the general public from gaining access to the beach. This decision caused a lot of dissension within our community and the general public. The organization felt like they were justified in doing this because they held the title to the beach. However, this is really a technicality, since as state before the beach is dedicated to all property owner's within our community and we pay a prorated share of the taxes on the beach. This is a legal issue that if brought to the court could be judged to that the beach belongs to all property owner's and BAWBP, Inc. would have limited power's to make decision's that affect all of us. This has not been taken to the court because no one is willing to fund the effort and there is a lot of apathy within the community, just like what exist's within our country. Claiming the beach to be a private beach put's all property owner's at risk of having to fund the re-nourishment of the beach when it becomes necessary and the maintenance of the beach. There comes a certain amount of financial liability to all property owner's by BAWBP, Inc. insisting the beach is private property. As example, the organization does not have personal liability insurance for the beach, which put's everyone at risk should an accident occur on the "private beach". All current Property owner's and prospective owner's , BEWARE!
